5000 houses: By-election candidates’ statements -
No outright support for proposals

On Thursday November 3rd voters in Syston, Queniborough, Barkby and Barkby Thorpe will be electing a new county councillor to fill the seat left vacant by the death of Cllr. Mike Preston. Before you cast your vote, it’s essential to understand where the different candidates stand on the key issue of the 5000 houses.

BABTAG has asked all those standing in the election for the Syston Ridgeway division to provide statements of their positions on the 5000 houses.

These statements are reproduced in full so that you can make a fully informed decision on polling day.

Santa will be in his grotto to see the children and the Memorial Hall and Old School will be providing stalls and refreshments. Outside there will be kiddies rides, a living nativity procession and a Christmas Tree Festival in St. Michael’s Church.
